I don't know if it's the cold Arctic air being funneled down by that polar vortex, the indefinite extension of our provincial restrictions, or just plain old February blues - but the past week hit me with a serious case of "I don't feel like doing anything at all."
I think the only real antidote to inertia is to just go do something, so this week I've compiled a longer list of curiosities to help exercise my own imagination. As we look ahead to actual spring, I hope these clips help you shake off that recent dusting of snow and keep creating.

If you're not reading as much as you'd like, try getting 20 pages in each morning instead. James Clear reads 36 books a year with this system.
Multitasking is distracting, and produces shallow results. By focusing on deep work for 2-3 hours per day, you may uncover your best work.
This list of the best writing apps - many of which lock you out of other tabs or block WiFi - could help you get into that deep work zone.
In this interview, a chess grandmaster (and author!) describes the board as "a kind of conceptual grammar" - isn't that beautiful? I also love this insight: "Concentration is not like a bulb that we can turn on and off with a switch, because we are not just the bulb; we are also the switcher and the switch.”
